Rosa & Kittens Vet Bills

Organized by BeliEVE Cat Rescue

All Are Home...for now...
For the first time in about two months, Rosa and all four kittens are under one roof. I don't think it will last, though.

Remus came home after two weeks at the vet, but he sounds very little better to us. He's still wheezing and very congested. Our vet is out of town until next week, but I'll call her then and see if there's anything more beyond the three meds he's still on that we can do.

Between all the cats, we're giving nine different medications each day, usually more than once a day. The three kittens, Teddi, Tommi, and Peepers are definitely better. Peepers still has ringworm, but her meds are helping that. Rosa still sneezes on occasion but her eyes and runny nose are definitely better.

Rosa was spayed about ten days ago and is doing very well. All the kittens, except Remus, have had their first round of shots and will go back next week for the last round.

All the donations are so appreciated. With Rosa and our own animals, we've had five surgeries this month!! Our dear FeLV cat, Seven, has a tumor removed and has terminal cancer. So with the good comes the heartbreak. We still have an outstanding vet bill of over $1,000., that includes Rosa's surgery and Remus' two week stay at the vet's. There he received special breathing treatments and IV antibiotics. I don't doubt that our vet may hospitalize him yet again for his congestion.

We're praying hard for these kitties to find forever homes now that they're on the road to good health. Thank you all for supporting Rosa's little family!!
Update!
Thanks so much to all who've sent something for Rosa and her little family.

Tomorrow, little Peepers can come home from isolation at the vet's office for a week. Remus is still too sick and must stay longer. I'm carrying mama Rosa and Teddi back as they are still congested, sneezing, and have runny noses and eyes. I'm expecting Dr. Christy to want to keep Teddi, if not Rosa, too. They are such sweet cats and kittens and just want to be loved, play and feel BETTER! So far, little Tommie seems to feel ok - just an occasional sneeze. I have them all on L-lysine and high quality cat/kitten foods.

I've told them all about their long-distance friends and supporters, and they all send their love and purrs to each of you!!!
Rosa's Story
I learned of Rosa and her little family from a volunteer at the Floyd County, GA Animal Shelter. This is a VERY high-kill shelter that euthanizes dozens of cats and kittens weekly. When I heard the story of Rosa and her family, I felt called to help.

Rosa is a young mama, only about 14 months old herself. This is at least her second litter. The bigger kitten, called Remus, is most likely from her previous litter. He is the sickest of all.

Rosa and her younger three kittens, all little girls, ended up as strays and were brought to the shelter with the older kitten, Remus. When Judy, the volunteer, called me, she knew these five cats would not survive the week, if not from euthanasia, then from their declining health.

It's a long story, but I've had them at two different vets for office visits and in isolation. They've had infections, pneumonia, fevers, and the list goes on and on. The kittens' eyes were matted shut, and Remus can't shake his respiratory infection.

My vet bills have been tremendous. I've never asked for help for my rescue cats before, but this loving family is so sick even after about five weeks of treatments. I can't get them to another foster or forever homes until they are better and can travel. Rosa is again in heat, so I'll need to have her spayed once we get her respiratory issues under control.
Any amount would be so very appreciated to help cover their vet and medical bills.

Thank you!!!
